First docking of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge immersed tube tunnel

From June 16th to June 17th, after the preparation of the project of the project of the Island Tunnel Project of China Communications Construction Co., Ltd., the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge project completed the second section of the immersed pipe (E2 pipe section) at sea for floatation, sinking, and docking. The seabed connection between E2 pipe section and E1 pipe section was realized.

The E2 pipe section is 112.5 meters long, 37.95 meters wide and 11.4 meters high. The draft is about 11.1 meters. The total weight is 44,000 tons and the total displacement is 47,000 tons. Its volume is equivalent to the E1 pipe section. At 12 o'clock on the June 16th, the E2 pipe section passed through the docking cable and passed through the deep docking station and entered the Waiyang Waiting Area. At 13:00 on the 17th, the E2 pipe was installed under the joint action of the ship's belt and four installation cables. The E2 pipe section overcomes the complicated and varied ocean currents on the site and has made difficult adjustments to its posture. It has finally achieved perfect connection with the E1 pipe section. (
