In response to a question from the representative of the French National Assembly, Besson stated that 80% of the Renault electric vehicles will be produced in France.

Renault said that it is estimated that by 2020, electric vehicle sales will account for 10% of the world's total car sales. At present, the company is working with its Japanese partner Nissan Motor Co., to invest 4 billion euros in an effort to become the world leader in the electric vehicle market.

A few days ago, a Renault news spokesman said that the company’s plan to build an electric vehicle battery plant in Flins in western Paris, France, will be postponed until 2014, and the French government will not invest in or finance the construction of battery factories. .
