The reason for this recall is that due to the instability of the automatic transmission assembly system, the insertion steps of the parking pawl guide sleeve pins on some affected vehicles may be omitted and not installed. If the transmission is used repeatedly in the absence of the pinning, the parking function may be lost, even if the gear and the dashboard indicate that the vehicle has been engaged in the P position; when the driver stops the vehicle, the instrument panel will not be able to warn that the vehicle is not properly engaged in the P position. If the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle may be accidentally moved under extreme conditions, posing a safety hazard.
Ford China's authorized dealers will check the transmission parking pawl guide sleeve pin for missing vehicles and install the pin on demand to eliminate hidden dangers. Stock vehicles will also be sold after the elimination of hidden dangers.
