Taiwan Ship International and ITRI jointly developed Taiwan's first 20-inch wave generator set, which was built in the Kaohsiung factory area of ​​Taiwan Shipbuilding International. It is scheduled to conduct short-term offshore deployment tests later this month.
According to reports, this generator set is 100% self-made in Taiwan. It is funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Industrial Technology Research Institute, and implements the “Energy Development Program for Marine Energy Power Generation System†energy technology project.
The total length of the generator set is 17.9 meters, the upper floating body is 6 meters in diameter and the total weight is 63.7 metric tons. It is a kinetic energy conversion device integrated with the basic mechanical transmission design, hydraulic system and power generation components.
The generator set was transferred by the Institute of Technology, and combined with Taiwan Shipbuilding International's rich experience in ship design and manufacturing.
According to Taiwan Ship International, according to the current state of technology development on and off the island and the environmental conditions in Taiwan, among the ocean energy in Taiwan, wave power generation can develop and test its own operation.
