Reporter: Compared with passenger vehicles, GAC's commercial vehicles are developing relatively slowly. In 2009, GAC has plans for commercial vehicles.

Zeng Qinghong: In 2009, we hope that the output value of commercial vehicles will reach about 1 billion yuan. Therefore, this year, GAC has made major adjustments in either the industrial structure or the product structure, especially for commercial vehicles. In terms of passenger cars, in the first two years, we consolidated Isuzu Bus, Denway Bus, Yangcheng Bus, and Guangzhou Bus into one, and established the Guangzhou Automobile Group Bus Co., Ltd., which specializes in buses and has a capacity of about 3,000 vehicles a year. We have also developed hybrid passenger car products, including gas-electric hybrids and gasoline-electric hybrids, which will be launched at the end of the year and will be used as vehicles designated for the Asian Games next year. For trucks, we mainly plan to produce 25-49 tons of heavy trucks. In August of this year, we will put into production the heavy truck products of the joint venture with Hino.

Reporter: What proportion of the output value of passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and parts and components has reached in the GAC Group?

Zeng Qinghong: 10% of spare parts, 10% of service trade, 10% of commercial vehicles, and the remaining 70% are passenger cars.

Reporter: Just as the financial crisis, will the progress of GAC truck projects slow down? Companies such as Chery have begun to engage in trucks and pose a threat to Guangzhou Automobile.

Zeng Qinghong: First of all, the heavy-duty truck market rebounded in January. It can be seen that the stimulating domestic demand policy has begun to show the pulling effect of heavy-duty trucks. I believe that this year's car sales volume is expected to increase by 10%.

Secondly, any market is competitive with each other, and competition does not matter. The key is how companies view the market, how to adapt to the market, whether they have competitive and differentiated products. We currently have a 50% stake in Japan's joint venture heavy-duty truck project. We are technically highly competitive. This heavy-duty truck product to be put on the market can achieve a million kilometers of no major repairs and a high cost performance. Although this product was only launched in August, we have already begun to establish a marketing network. On the one hand, we have further improved the existing (Yangcheng Truck) network; on the other hand, we have built a batch of 4S stores, set up demonstration sites, and set up regions. General agent. For the heavy truck to be launched in August, I am very confident.

Reporter: GAC also has hybrid bus products. What role do you think the government should play in the development of new energy vehicles?

Zeng Qinghong: In the past, methanol was considered a new energy source. The result was not enough and there was not so much food. However, fuel cells such as hydrogen fuel cells are also unsuccessful, and we have yet to find new pollution-free sources of energy that can be supplied to automobiles for a long time. I agree that new energy needs to be developed, but it should focus on R&D. There is no need for every company to develop.

In addition, I think we should pay more attention to energy-saving and environmental protection technologies. Twenty years ago, the United States first started working as a new energy bus and did not make it 20 years later. In November last year, the United States invested 25 billion U.S. dollars in the transformation of automotive energy-saving technologies.

I think that hybrid technology is more mature nowadays. It can save about 30% energy, and it is also environmentally friendly. The government should organize enterprises to concentrate on research and development and implement the policies.

Reporter: This year's automobile industry revitalization plan put forward the requirements of “four big four small”, and Guangzhou Automobile is also among them. What do you think about this issue?

Zeng Qinghong: On this issue, I think who should support who is strong and how the company is going to support it, and then withdraw. Now that it is a market economy, the government can only play a guiding role. Reorganization should be a corporate behavior, and eventually achieve an effect of 1 plus 1 and more than 2. If the government hard to pull companies together, it would be more passive.
