Volvo Penta launches the boat "future bridge"

The driver can start the engine, power system and other devices with a single push of a button, but it is not that simple in the world of boats. However, Volvo Penta has begun to develop an integrated, modular and user-friendly console for future boats, ergonomics and visual effects are two major areas of improvement for new consoles. To this end, Volvo Penta has transferred experts from other parts of the Volvo Group to optimize safety, vision, ergonomics, seating, control components, etc. to provide the best environment for the boat driver.

Anders Bondesson, head of design at Volvo Penta, said, “We have gathered a lot of inspiration from the boat industry here. As a supplier of important components for the boat's energy system, we will promote the development of technical solutions to make life easier for boat builders and owners. ,safer."

The complete and ergonomically optimized “future bridge” delivered by Volvo Penta fully integrates the boat propulsion system with the navigation communication system and other electronic equipment. “The internal design of the different ship types is different, which makes it impossible to design a driving environment that meets the needs of all boats, but we can try to provide a more standard and intuitive solution to meet the needs of the boat driver,” says Anders Bondesson.

Volvo Penta did not specify a timetable for the new system to be introduced to the market, but this year it has introduced products such as Joystick Driving.
