On February 20th, 2012, the China-EU Tire Industry Round Table Conference co-sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China and the European Commission Commission was successfully held at the Liangmahe Hotel Convention Center in Beijing, with a total of nearly 50 domestic Foreign delegates attended the professional meeting.

The conference is divided into seven parts, covering China's tire industry overview, European tire industry overview, China's import and export tire inspection regulatory regulations, EU tire policies and regulations, China's tire product certification, European tire labeling regulations and implementation, China Tire industry policy and other content. During the meeting, the two sides also conducted in-depth understanding and exchange of issues of mutual concern.

Chairman of the China Rubber Industry Association, Fan Rende, focused on his speech: Since November 1, 2012, the European Union will officially enter into force the tire label directive. By then, all tires exported to the European Union will have rolling resistance, noise, and wetland grip. Each performance index must be added to the tire sidewall and meet the EU minimum standards. The issue that China is most concerned about is whether China and the European Union can establish a mutually confirmed tire laboratory mechanism to reduce the cost of testing; what specific regulations exist for the tire rolling resistance measurement program; how does the EU view and consider its technical regulations and the United States? Differences in national technical regulations; What are the EU's technical regulations on the development of tires, automobiles, and other products? What are the new considerations in the near future? What are the EU countries’ policy encouragement and support for green products and production?

Mr. Philippe Jean, head of the automotive division of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Industry and Industry, Ms.Fazilet Cinaralp, general secretary of the European Tire and Rubber Manufacturers’ Association, and Mr. Macro Spinetto, member of the Expert Group of the European Tire Rim Standardization Technical Organization, respectively, conducted the above questions. answer. They mentioned that the list of tire rolling resistance reference laboratories that people are concerned about will be announced in the EU's official announcement in recent weeks. Regarding the policy support for green tires, the EU has already subsidized the purchase of energy-saving vehicles, but it also buys green tires. There is no clear subsidy, but it is under consideration, but EU countries will provide financial support for R&D companies and R&D institutions that produce green tires.

Through the exchange, China has deepened its understanding of the new EU tire regulatory framework. During the transitional period from 2012 to 2020, the tires (c1, c2, c3) should gradually meet the new minimum standards for wet grip, rolling resistance and noise. It is required that for tires produced after June 30, 2012 and sold in the European Union, information on wet grip, fuel efficiency, and external rolling noise performance (C1, C2, C3) must be included in the tire label.

Finally, EU representatives called on the Chinese government, the China Rubber Industry Association and related tire companies to become more involved in the development of the GLOBAL TIRE REGULATION legislation to form a globally recognized tire law as soon as possible, reducing each National tire manufacturing company certification costs.
