Intelligent Lighting System for Automotive Lighting Technology

The automotive intelligent lighting system was introduced in 2006. It is a lighting system that provides five different lighting modes with dual xenon light bulbs as the light source. The five luminescence modes provided by the system correspond to urban roads and highways respectively, and incorporate enhanced fog lights, curved auxiliary lighting, and active lighting functions.

It was originally designed to avoid the impact of light on the opposite vehicle and the driver of the vehicle ahead. This system was originally applied to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class launched in 2009. The system can steplessly adjust the light illumination range, instead of a simple two-stage light switch. According to the traffic flow and road lighting conditions, the beam distance can extend from 65 meters to 300 meters. This kind of system also uses the camera as the photosensitive element, so the working reliability has greatly improved. Subsequently, Mercedes-Benz also applied this technology to S-Class, CLS and C-Class models. Other vendors also have similar technologies.
