Industry data show that in the first quarter of the year, China imported more than 195,000 licensed vehicles, which is an increase of 40.9% year-on-year, far exceeding domestic vehicle growth.

From the perspective of vehicle classification, the SUV has achieved the fastest growth year-on-year, and the market-dominated model status has been strengthened; CAR's market share has declined; MPV's share has been increased under the stimulation of new products. From the displacement structure, the medium and small displacement (3.0L or less) models have reached nearly 80% of the market, and the market competitiveness of the 2.5-3.0LSUV models has increased significantly. From the perspective of brand structure, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Lexus are ranked in the top three brands, and the top ten brands have high market concentration. The growth of luxury brands exceeds the overall growth rate of imported vehicles.

Wang Cun, marketing manager of China Imported Automobile Trading Co., Ltd., stated that the number of cards to be sold in the second quarter is expected to be around 190,000 units, and the total number of vehicles sold in 2011 is expected to be 800,000. The impact of the "Japanese earthquake" incident on the supply of China's imported auto market is expected to disappear completely by the end of the third quarter. From the perspective of product structure, the SUV will continue to maintain its leading position in the market, but the earthquake in Japan will affect the supply of 30% of this segment of the market, causing the transaction price of terminals to rise, while the market share will decline.
