[ Instrument Network Instrument Development ] On July 16, 2019, the “Special Management Office of the Earth Observation and Navigation†key organization management team conducted a mid-term inspection of the “High-precision Atomic Magnetometer†project led by Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in Beijing. . More than 60 people from the “Earth Observation and Navigation†key expert group experts, peer experts, special management office members, project leaders and participants in the research team attended the meeting.
This inspection uses a combination of meeting and on-site inspection. By listening to the project leader's report, on-site viewing of the system demonstration, inspection of the site results and meeting review, the inspection team considered that the project was progressing smoothly, and completed the medium-term goal and task, and agreed to pass the mid-term inspection. At the same time, the expert group recommended to further improve the indicator testing program during the follow-up implementation of the project, strengthen the research work on spectral line broadening, and ensure the smooth realization of the project objectives.
The atomic magnetometer is a core component of the geomagnetic navigation system and is of great significance for the development of geomagnetic navigation. The "High-Precision Atomic Magnetometer" project aims to explore new mechanisms and methods for high-precision magnetic field measurement. After two years of technical research, the project optimizes the design of high-precision small-volume atomic magnetometers, systemless integration and testing of systems. In the aspect, progress has been made, and core devices such as small anti-relaxation high-pass alkali metal gas chambers, high-uniformity ovens, and non-magnetic heating films have been developed.
The project results will provide a new generation of magnetic field information acquisition tools for high-precision geomagnetic navigation, serving China's underwater target detection, deep space exploration, resource exploration and other fields, providing new magnetic field sensing capabilities for China's geomagnetic navigation technology and navigation industry. Rapid development plays a driving role.
