·AQSIQ: Some imported Lexus hidden dangers or induced rear-end collision

On November 17, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine issued the No. 4 risk warning notice this year. Some PCS collision prediction safety systems loaded by Lexus vehicles have potential safety hazards, which may lead to accidents such as rear-end collision.

According to Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd., the vehicles equipped with the PCS collision prediction safety system (the device that mitigates the collision with the front obstacles) are suspected to be mistaken for the metal joints of the road surface. Obstructions, leading to warning sounds, may initiate auxiliary braking or automatic braking, such as the driver's panic during the brake operation, may induce accidents such as rear-end collision, there are safety hazards. According to statistics, the problem model involves the Lexus ES350 model from 2012 to 2015. The production date is from June 22, 2012 to May 19, 2015, for a total of 126 vehicles.

Currently, the company is investigating the cause of the defect and developing a recall plan for the defect. The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine requires the company to investigate the causes of the defects as soon as possible. Before the implementation of the recall, temporary measures must be implemented to protect the personal and property safety of the owners.

The AQSIQ reminds the owner that the vehicle should be promptly sent to the dealership to temporarily shut down the PCS function.
