Wuhan Automotive and Parts Export Base among the top three

On April 12, the reporter learned from the Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Commerce that the Ministry of Commerce and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly issued a document concerning the assessment results of the 12 auto parts export bases of the country. The Wuhan Auto and Parts Export Base is ranked by the country. The third outstanding achievement was approved by experts from two ministries and commissions organized once every three years.

The Wuhan National Automobile and Components Export Base was awarded by the Ministry of Commerce and the National Development and Reform Commission in August 2006 in Beijing. It is one of the first eight base cities in China. The state implements dynamic management of auto and auto parts export bases, and assesses bases once in three years. 2010 is the assessment year.

Over the past few years, the Wuhan Automobile and Parts Export Base has been under the guidance of the Scientific Outlook on Development, focusing on the main lines of “Expanding Domestic Demand, Promoting External Demand, Adjusting Structure, and Transferring Ways”, and driving through “leadership driven, supportive policies, and export atmosphere”. The linkage of service carriers will focus on key projects, key enterprises, key products, and key areas, and promote the development of bases and automobile industry clusters. In 2010, the automotive export base achieved a total output value of 121.228 billion yuan, an increase of 43.7% over the previous year; the total automobile output was 669,300, an increase of 36% over the previous year and a net increase of 177,200; the export of automobiles and parts was 326 million US dollars. The previous year increased by 86.2%. The average annual growth rate of auto and parts exports is 104% in 4 years. The export of automotive products has become an important part of the Wuhan automobile industry and an important carrier for transforming the growth mode of foreign trade.

According to the Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the Bureau will increase support for strengthening the base's innovation capability, building a good public service platform, improving the overseas marketing system, and establishing a brand image. It will strive to build Wuhan's automobile export base into a city of Wuhan and transform foreign trade development. Ways to adjust the demonstration base of export structure to promote the sustained and healthy development of Wuhan automotive product exports.
