A new scientific study found that the change in the solar heat and the impact on the earth's climate change are not so significant. This finding overturned a widely held scientific view that the long-term changes in the earth's cold and warm climate were caused by cyclical fluctuations in solar activity.
The study of climate change in the Northern Hemisphere over the past 1000 years shows that until 1800, the main driver of the climate cycle change was the volcanic eruption. The discovery seems to have overturned the claim that sunlight reached the earth, causing a cool, dry weather. Since 1900, greenhouse gases have become the leading cause of climate change.
The results of the survey indicate that the low solar activity period does not have a significant impact on the temperature on the earth and is expected to improve scientists' understanding and climate prediction.
Scientists at the University of Edinburgh conducted a study using data from tree rings and other historical sources to construct past temperature records. They compared these data records with a computer-based model of past climate and found only subtle changes in the sun.
They found that models that produce small changes in sunlight give the best correlation with temperature records, suggesting that solar activity has had minimal impact on the squadron temperatures over the past thousand years.
This study was published in the Natural Earth Science and is supported by the Natural Environment Research Council.
Dr. Andrew of the University of Geosciences at Edinburgh College said: "Until now, we know little about the impact of solar activity on past climate. We hope that our new discoveries will help increase our understanding of how climate has changed over the past few centuries. And to improve the ability to predict how they will develop in the future. The link between the sun and the unusually cold winter in the UK is still being explored."
