[ Instrument Network Instrument R & D ] Recently, test and measurement experts Rohde & Schwarz and UWB technology expert Decawave released UWB chip and complete product testing solutions. As part of the collaboration, Decawave provided test strategies, test methods, and Decawave DW3000 models as DUTs. Rohde & Schwarz developed the UWB test function on the R & S CMP200 wireless communication tester, making it a test instrument on the market that can support 5G FR2 and UWB technology RF development and production at the same time.
UWB technology is a technology based on the IEEE 802.15.4a and 802.15.4z standards. It can provide centimeter-level positioning accuracy within a range of up to 75 meters. UWB is also able to maintain a very low power consumption level while supporting secure data transmission up to 27Mbps. Therefore, UWB is an ideal choice for low-latency, high-precision, high-reliability secure positioning services. At the same time, UWB has also opened a new door for mobile communications, automotive, Internet of Things and Industry 4.0. The characteristics of ultra-large bandwidth and ultra-low power density make it possible for UWB signals to share the network spectrum bandwidth with various wideband and narrowband systems without interference.
The 802.15.4a / z standard includes many frequency bands. As an initial member of the UWB Technology Alliance, Decawave has provided products from 3.5GHz to 6.5GHz. Now, they are committed to developing products based on the higher frequency range, 5.8GHz to 10.6GHz, which supports high power and can transmit longer distances. The DW3000 chip can work on the 5 and 9 channels of the above-mentioned high frequency band, and the bandwidth range reaches 500MHz.
"As OEM and ODM customers prepare to deploy UWB products for production, customers expect that the corresponding test equipment is ready and can meet their production needs," said Anton Messmer, vice president of the wireless communication test department of Rohde & Schwarz.
Jeff Clancy, vice president of engineering at Decawave, said: "This cooperation with Rohde & Schwarz enables our customers to produce a large number of products very efficiently, and to bring products to the market at a faster rate. We are very happy This solution can be launched with Rohde & Schwarz to meet the testing needs of the UWB ecosystem. "
The R & S CMP200 wireless communication tester can meet the RF test needs of products ranging from 6GHz to 20GHz. At the same time, combined with the frequency conversion processing module R & S CMPHEAD30, it can also cover the RF test requirements of all frequency bands of 5G FR2 (including 28GHz and 39GHz). This instrument is a test instrument on the market that can simultaneously meet the R & D and production test standards for UWB and 5G FR2 technologies.
