Quanba Textile Association invites zero tariff import of textile machinery

Pakistan Knitwear Manufacturers Association and Convenor, Chief Coordinator Javed, President of the Pakistan Textile Association Committee (CAPTA). Baowani said: "We demand that the 17% sales tax on the import of textile machinery, equipment and accessories be completely eliminated."

Mr. Baovani reacted strongly to the Pakistan government’s 17% sales tax on imported textile machinery, accessories and equipment.

In a recent notice, the Pakistani government restricted sales tax measures with zero tax rates to five export sectors: textiles, leather, medical care, sports and carpets, and restricted to registered manufacturing-exporters or exporters.

Baowani believes that imported machinery should have a zero tax rate, so that the cost of doing business can be reduced.
