With the introduction of a new round of subsidy policies, the technical direction of China's new energy vehicles has been further clarified. This is the “electric drive”. Under the guidance of this policy, major and medium-sized bus companies have stepped up their R&D and promotion of pure electric and plug-in hybrid electric buses. The quiet dual-sourced trolley bus market has seen a significant recovery.

Although Futian Ouhui’s time to enter the large and medium-sized buses is not long, it has always been an important force in China’s new energy bus market. The successive seizure of large bus orders in Beijing made the company a benchmark for observing the development of the new energy bus market in China. Recently, the reporter learned that, including pure electric, dual-source non-rail and plug-in hybrid buses, the sales of Ouhui New Energy Bus are expected to reach 2,000 this year. Among them, pure electric and dual source trackless buses will account for 40% to 50%. Driven by the strong growth in sales of new energy buses, the annual sales of Ouhui Bus is expected to exceed 8,000 vehicles.

Dual-source, pure electricity, plug-in have a variety of models

In terms of R&D and marketization of new energy buses, Futian Ouhui has been at the forefront of China's large and medium-sized bus industry. As early as January 2008, 30 Futian hybrid buses were put into operation in Guangzhou, becoming the earliest mass-market hybrid bus in China. In December of the same year, Foton Motor also signed a purchase agreement for 800 hybrid buses with Beijing Bus Group, which became the largest number of orders for hybrid buses in China at the time.

In terms of pure electric, dual source trackless and plug-in hybrid buses, Foton Europe has also completed the product layout of multiple platforms and varieties. According to Liu Guoqiang, deputy general manager of Futian Ouhui Bus, in these three categories, Ouhui’s current number of pure electric buses has the largest number of models, and there are four platforms (6 to 8 meters, 9 to 11 meters, 12 meters, and 18 meters). )'s products, and all achieve low-floor, can meet the operational requirements from small community buses to rapid large-capacity bus lines. In the genealogy of the new energy bus products of Ouhui, the dual-source trolleybus is a variant of the pure electric bus, but it is currently only 12 meters. The length of bodywork of Ouhui plug-in hybrid buses is more than 10 meters. At present, there are 2 platforms and 6 varieties. This year, we will develop hybrid vehicles and further increase the proportion of electric drives to achieve better energy-saving and emission reduction effects.

For the marketization prospects of these three types of models, Liu Guoqiang believes that they have their own advantages, but also have their own limitations.

Since 2010, more than 100 Futian Ouhui pure electric buses have been put into trial operation. According to Liu Guoqiang's introduction, after many years of trial operation, Ouhui Pure Electric Bus Technology has made great progress, energy consumption levels have fallen by more than 30%, and the self-respect of the 12-meter models has also dropped from the original 14.5 tons to 12.15 tons. "If you do not consider the battery factor, Ouhui pure electric bus can basically meet the requirements of bus operations, but also has the advantages of low noise, quick start." He told reporters, in addition to the battery life, the charging time is also a decisive factor in the promotion of pure electric bus influences.

Dual-source trolleybuses, like pure electric passenger vehicles, can achieve "zero emissions" in the operation process, but the premise is to have cable network resources. "As long as the cable network resources, the use of dual-source trolley buses can have more advantages than plug-in hybrid buses," said Liu Guoqiang.

Plug-in hybrid buses have relatively low requirements for supporting infrastructure, but they can only reduce emissions and cannot achieve “zero emissions”.

In the short term, it is more optimistic about the fast charging mode of pure electric buses.

After the new round of subsidy policies for new energy vehicles was released, relevant national ministries and commissions have successively announced the list of two pilot cities, and issued deadline-based promotion indicators. However, the reporter learned from the interview that for the promotion of pure electric buses, most of the pilot cities still have great doubts. With regard to the charging mode of pure electric buses, domestic parties have always had arguments between fast charging, fast changing and slow charging modes.

Liu Guoqiang told reporters that Futian Ouhui is now more optimistic about the fast charging mode of pure electric buses. "New energy buses must be able to meet basic operational requirements," he said. "Otherwise, even if the government spends money on buying cars, bus companies will not use them."

According to Liu Guoqiang's introduction, as one of the “863” projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Foton Motor, together with Tsinghua University and Beijing Public Transport, has conducted research on the fast charging technology of electric vehicles and achieved many results. "Currently, fast charging is the most feasible charging mode for purely electric buses, especially on 6-8 meters models and on public transportation lines that are less than 10 kilometers one way. Vehicles can be charged 3-4 times a day, every 10-15 minutes. To ensure normal operation, a charging pile can also charge two or more vehicles at the same time.” He told reporters that compared with slow charging batteries, the new fast charging battery has a slightly lower energy density, but its service life is greatly extended. The cost has dropped significantly and the batteries of Futian Ouhui Pure Electric Bus have been guaranteed for 8 years.

This charging mode has also been recognized by some users. In an interview with Futian Ouhui, the reporter learned that an Ouhui 12-meter fast-charged pure electric passenger car has been put into trial operation in the ice city of Harbin, focusing on testing the cold resistance of the battery.

Liu Guoqiang also stressed that pure electric buses still have a lot of room for optimization. “Electric buses should not duplicate the development ideas of conventional fuel buses and must be reconsidered in an integrated manner.” He said, “For example, the use of wheel-side driving methods not only optimizes the transmission structure of passenger cars, but also improves the layout of interior space. Great convenience."

New dual-source tram is different from traditional trolleybus

In 2014, the news that Beijing will launch 400 trolleybuses once again aroused people’s concern about dual-source trolley buses. As the most competitive supplier of these vehicles, Futian Ouhui is undoubtedly one of the focuses of attention. So, what's the difference between Ouhui dual-source trolleybus and traditional trolleybus? How does Futian Ouhui see the market prospect of dual-source trolleybuses?

Liu Guoqiang told reporters that Beijing is preparing to purchase Futian Ouhui and Beijing Public Transport to develop a new generation of dual-source trolleybuses.

According to reports, this new type of dual-source trolleybus uses a large number of technologies and configurations of pure electric buses, such as advanced permanent-magnet synchronous motors, fully-upgraded strong-power platforms, energy recovery devices, and fast-charging lithium batteries. Power and comfort Such performance can reach the level of pure electric buses. At the same time, the internationally advanced collection devices not only can automatically move up and down, but also have longer life and higher efficiency. "Accurately speaking, it should be called an online rechargeable electric bus," Liu Guoqiang told reporters.

Due to the “zero emissions” of bus operations at lower procurement and use costs, many domestic cities are considering the development of dual-source trolley buses. According to Beijing's plan, by 2017, the city’s dual-source trolley bus will increase from the current number of less than 600 vehicles to about 2,600 vehicles. Among them, it is expected to reach 1,000 by the end of 2015.

Liu Guoqiang believes that the market prospects of dual-source trolleybuses mainly depend on the urban planning and line network resources of different regions. At present, China has more than 10 cities with online network resources. Guiyang and other places are considering the construction of a trolley bus line network when the construction of new urban areas is being carried out. "From the technical characteristics of the product, the dual-source trolley bus is more suitable for the city's trunk bus, especially the BRT line. I personally believe that it is possible to have a 25% to 30% share of the bus market," he said.
