August New Car Sales in Russia Increase 51% YoY

Global Gasgoo reported that the Association of European Business recently released data showing that, thanks to the economic recovery and the government’s vehicle replacement policy, in August and the first 8 months of this year, sales of the Russian new car market have been realized. The year-on-year increase in different magnitudes.

In August, sales of new cars in the Russian market were 168,627, an increase of 51% year-on-year. The best-selling models in the Russian market were Volga Lada, Renault Logan and Ford Focus.

In the first eight months of this year, cumulative sales of new cars in the Russian market were 1,135,074, an increase of 14% compared to the same period of last year.

In order to stimulate the consumption of new cars in the Russian market, the Russian government has invested 21.5 billion roubles (about 697 million U.S. dollars) for the trade-in replacement policy this year.
